Asia is the largest and most diverse of the worlds continents and covers approximately on third of the total land mass of the earth. The range of climatic condition are extremely broad ranging from the cold of the Arctic tundra to the wet monsoon areas of India and Burma and humid Equatorial Rain forests to the south of the continent. The central area of the Asian land mass is dominated by a highland plateau region which contains many of the world highest mountains. The diversity of the climatic and geographical regions are equalled by the many types of flora and fauna to be found on the continent - however in areas where the population growth is extreme much of the natural resources of the continent are at risk.
